It seems so often these days, the stress of every day life, the overwhelming (at times) nature of the information pouring at us through channels like Facebook and Instagram, and the beautiful images we see on other networks like Pinterest have us longing to just get away from it all. But sometimes, a vacation just isn’t in the cards. And even if it is, why limit yourself to a vacation where you have to get away? There is another option right in your backyard, and we definitely think it’s worth exploring! That’s why a staycation is a must-try for every person, couple, or family at least once in their lives if not monthly!
Located along Mida creek, Temple Point Resort is the true definition of a 4 star hotel; comfortable, large, full of character and intimate. The resort blends into the natural environment and like so many of the hotels in Watamu, it has taken great care to respect the natural setting. The makuti (dried palm fronds) thatched roof have been designed to make the most of natural ventilation.
As travel writers/photographers, who also have full time jobs and not to mention a married life, things do get busy! Early last month we decided to take a trip to Malindi and enjoy some much needed vitamin sea. You will have to believe us when we say 3 days is definitely not enough time to fully explore Malindi, but that makes it even better as we have to revisit the place someday soon.
We FINALLY booked a home stay using AirBnB!!!! We will share the whole experience with you and how you can get a discount with your first booking, but first…..
Happy New year 2018 🙂
We’ve had an account with Airbnb for several years, yet we’ve never booked a stay using this service. After we stayed in Naivasha with Airbnb, our only regret is that we didn’t use the booking site sooner.
