Glamping is an exciting new trend that combines the luxuries of staying in a hotel while being close to mother nature without having to pitch a tent yourself. If this sounds like your type of getaway, look no further. One family has redefined luxury camping in the city by setting up a one of a kind eco camp right at the capital. When booking a Kenyan safari, Nairobi as a destination barely comes to mind, not to mention Nairobi being the only city in the world with a national park in its backyard. A few weeks back, we got a chance to kick off our heels and catch up with nature at a charming cabin at the slopes of Mt.Kenya. Castle Forest Lodge is the perfect place to get away from the city for just a day or two and enjoy the forest and tranquility that comes with it. Many of life’s greatest stories begin with a couple of friends, randomly deciding to jump in a car and drive somewhere. You roll down the windows, turn up the tunes and cruise into brand new adventures. Indeed, there’s nothing better than a good ol’ fashioned road trip.
We recently took one to Taveta on an assignment for Grogan Castle and realized there is so much to see just from the convenience of your car 🙂 Wildlife and photogenic landscapes are plenty in Taveta county.
Uniquely situated on the shoreline of sapphire-blue Lake Elementaita, where hundreds of thousands of birds congregate, the exclusive Sirville Lodge is an area of breathtaking beauty. We were recently invited to do a review of this stunning lodge, and the place blew us away.
We recently visited a friend down at Voi and took the opportunity to enjoy a game drive at the vast Tsavo park. This is our first game safari post 🙂 and we are excited to share it with you. Tsavo is made up of two separate parks, Tsavo East National Park and Tsavo West National Park. At nearly 22,000km2, it’s the largest national park in Kenya and one of the largest in the world.
If you love coffee, you probably already know that Ethiopian coffee is perhaps the best in the world. I definitely know it is 🙂 , I drank a lot of coffee when I was in Ethiopia and it kept me awake my entire trip. Not only will you want to drink as many cups of the goodness as possible while in Ethiopia, but it’s also a must to purchase coffee beans in Addis Ababa to bring back home.
So part 1 was all about the North part of Ethiopia with its magnificent scenery and landscapes get to read it here. In this post I’ll be sharing a few places I visited within the capital-Addis Ababa. Watch the Ethiopia vlog My Trip to Ethiopia and don’t forget to subscribe:)
Hello Lovelies 🙂
For those of you who follow us on Instagram you know I (Liz) took a 3 day work related trip to Addis Ababa-Ethiopia. This was my second visit to the Horn of Africa and I was aflame to say the least. I remember how my first visit was all work related denying me an opportunity to wander around or even shop. This time though it had to be different and the explorer in me was on full alert. I had made a list of everything I wanted to do,but funny enough never got to check them all out giving me all the reason to plan a third visit soon 🙂
Wasp and Sprout is a wonderful quirky cafe/coffee boutique hidden away in the Old Loresho Shopping centre. It’s perfect for those Instagram snaps with its design, colors and rustic feel. Don’t we all love to dine in a cafe or restaurant with great ambience? But not many places in Nairobi offer this due to either space constraint or poor decorations/color combinations. For us dining in places where space isn’t an issue, with ample privacy, or sometimes just in places where colors and layout are pleasing to the eye is an added perk! Good natural lighting is a big plus point too Instagrammers can relate.
