Uniquely situated on the shoreline of sapphire-blue Lake Elementaita, where hundreds of thousands of birds congregate, the exclusive Sirville Lodge is an area of breathtaking beauty.We were recently invited to do a review of this stunning lodge, and the place blew us away.
Drive towards Nakuru on the A104 for around 120km up to the famous Nyama Choma joint Kikopey at Gilgil. From Kikopey, drive for approximately 4.6km, and on your left, you will see a dirt road with many signboards among them Pelican Lake Elementaita Lodge and Sirville Lodge Lake Elementaita. Take the dirt road and follow the signposts on the way for about 2 km and they will lead you right to their doorstep (GPS co-ordinates -0.4469778,36.2623442)

We arrived in the afternoon; the friendly staff received and attended to us. Lucy, the receptionist, gave us a detailed orientation of the place and ushered us to our room.
Sirville has four evocatively styled cottages that blend aristocratic elegance with modern luxury. The cottages Ibis, Crane, Lovebird, and Heron, are named after the bird species found in Lake Elementaita:) Each cabin has four rooms each.
Our room had a queen size bed, with white covers and white pillow sets, an African themed ceiling and a polished wooden floor.There is enough closet space in case you’re planning to stay longer than a night. The rooms have 8-10 electric sockets and this for us was a dominant WIN! The management is looking to install TV sets and WiFi. The nights are chilly, with the breeze blowing inland from the lake so pack some warm clothes 🙂 The bathroom was modern with well-stocked towels and toiletries.
The Lodge has two family cottages. Each cottage has two spacious bedrooms, a living area, and modern bathroom. Each bedroom has a queen size bed and smaller bed. The family cottages can house up to 8 persons.
Overlooking the pool is the restaurant. However, guests have the luxury to enjoy an outdoor setup around the pool or close to the lake on request.The restaurant runs the whole day and has an À la carte menu serving mouth-watering meals that cater for everyone.
It serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. There is plenty of sitting space inside, but the top deck had a better view of the lake. The management even provided us with binoculars for bird watching. How cool!
Fun things to do;
In case you are wondering what else there is to do, then you in luck. The lodge has a large swimming pool, plenty of birds for bird lovers, quad bikes, and one can enjoy a nature walk to the famous sleeping warrior hill.
Everything about Sirville was exceptional; although short and sweet, we hope to visit soon. To book a stay with visit their Website.
